Tradition Records re-releases
The LP and CD releases listed on this page are all compilations of recordings from 9 albums originally released on Patrick (Paddy) Clancy's Tradition label—between 1956-1963. (see the first page for introduction and explanation)
Cleary, many of the albums listed on this page were released solely to cash in on the popularity of the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, as many of these recordings contained few, if any, true CBTM tracks. Many of these recordings are made up of songs mostly by Peg and Bobby Clancy, the Clancy Grandchildern and David Hammond, with only one or two, (if any) tracks taken off of actual CBTM albums.
In some cases these "CBTM" tracks are of Liam Clancy and Tommy Makem taken from The Lark in the Morning and/or Songs of Tommy Makem, with no tracks by (or with) Tom or Paddy Clancy. And in the most extreme cases, no tracks by any member of the original CBTM line up, or member of the Clancy or Makem families, for that matter.
To my knowledge, all of these re-issues, re-hashes, and strange compilations were all released after Paddy Clancy sold Tradition records in 1966.
