Tradition Records re-releases
As you shop for Clancy Brothers with (and without) Tommy Makem vinyl albums and CDs, you'll find many, many from which to choose. A substainal number (58 on these next three pages) of the LP and CD releases contain music from nine albums originally released on Patrick Clancy's Tradition label—between 1956-1961.
Of these nine original albums, only three of these albums are actually "the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem" (CBTM)—The Rising of the Moon (1959), Come Fill Your Glass With Us and (the self-titled) The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. Re-releases and re-issues of these albums will be listed on this page [one]. Compilations of tracks from (or primarily from) these albums will be listed on page two.
The other six records are The Lark in the Morning (featuring Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy and their mothers, Sarah and Joan, respectively), Songs of Tommy Makem, (Tommy Makem solo album), So Early In The Morning & Songs from Ireland (Peg and Bobby Clancy—the former also featuring the Clancy Grandchildern), The Bonny Bunch of Roses (Seamus Ennis) and I Am the Wee Falorie Man (David Hammond)—these recordings will be dealt with on page three.
To my knowledge, all of these re-issues, re-hashes, and strange compilations were released after Paddy Clancy sold Tradition records in 1966.
